With many of us working from home in Milton during 2021 and 2022, it is important to maintain a healthy spine. Milton Chiropractors can help you maintain your healthy spine. You may be noticing yourself slouching when working from home. Your desk may not be set up ergonomically. You may be experiencing carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). Your screen may not be adjusted at eye level, and so forth.

Milton Chiropractors are readily available at The Health First Group’s Milton Clinic to help your pains go away. When experiencing pains in your neck and back, it is important to get medical care before things begin to escalate and get worse. In today’s blog we will discuss a few tips to effectively care for and maintain your spine.

Frequent Exercising

It is important to get at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day. This could easily be achieved from doing things like jogging, rock climbing, swimming, fast walking, gardening, cleaning, etc. Not only will this help keep your spine healthy, but it will improve and maintain your overall health.

Posture

Throughout the day, it is crucial to keep an eye on your posture. Maintaining a good posture will allow for a possible elimination of pain in your back and neck. It will also help you stand up straight and improve your overall image. At first, fixing your posture can feel painful or even awkward. However, your body will slowly get accustomed to the adjustment, and it will no longer feel painful. Furthermore, when working from a desk or sitting for long periods of time, it is important to get up, stretch, and walk a few steps before taking a seat again. This helps get the blood flowing throughout your body, helps you maintain your posture, and reduces back and neck pain.

Sleep

Getting a healthy amount of sleeping hours is key to a good overall health. Our mattress and pillow also play a vital role in reducing and eliminating back and neck pain in Milton. For example, purchasing a Posturepedic mattress and pillow will allow for a better sleep. If you constantly wake up with back and/or neck pain, then perhaps it’s time to change your mattress and/or pillow. It’s also good to place a pillow under your knees if you sleep on your back, and between your knees if you’re a side-sleeper.

Core Training

Firstly, it is key to workout a few times a week to maintain a healthy body overall. When working out, you should focus on strengthening your core muscles. The stronger your core, the less overall pressure there will be on your lower back and spine. This will help reduce or eliminate overall back, neck, and spine issues.

We hope the above 4 tips help you in maintaining a healthy spine. Our Milton Chiropractors are always readily available to help you with your needs. We are here to help you get back to your normal lifestyle.
